If you have a car, downtown Honolulu and Chinatown — the financial and business district – is just 10 minutes away and is also easily accessible via bus, bike and soon, the Rail.
Metro Oahu also includes the island’s biggest hospitals like Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children and the Queen’s Medical Center. There are many schools including the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Roosevelt High School, Punahou School and ‘Iolani School, just to name a few.
In terms of size, most living spaces in Metro Oahu are on the smaller side, although there are always exceptions. Price points vary widely as well as style of homes and condos. However, a common two-bedroom apartment typically ranges from 800 to 950 square feet and a home on the larger side is around 2500 interior square feet. Neighborhoods like Nuuanu, Manoa and Makiki have older style homes built in the 1930s and 40s, while Salt Lake is mostly condominiums.
