Aside from the Sunday open house that most people on Oahu are familiar with, there are viewings called broker’s opens which the Realtor community typically schedules throughout the week. These broker’s opens allows other brokers to preview a property which they can then tell their clients about. Being that many agents are hosting their own open houses on Sunday, broker’s opens do not conflict with their weekend showings.
Statistically, a homebuyer will find their home through their real estate agent 32% of the time. For this reason doesn’t it make sense to invite other agents to a broker’s open? You may not need to have a broker’s open every week, but it does help when you schedule it in advance and are able to promote the open to other agents. It is also customary to have a joint broker’s open with other properties in the area. These joint broker’s opens provides greater incentive for other agents to view a property.
In order to allow the maximum number of viewings through the week the Honolulu Board of Realtors coordinates a schedule of broker’s opens which occur at different days and times around the island. The schedule for 2016 is shown below.
